The app screen goes completely black after a while. What should I do?

In most cases, a completely black screen after some time in use is caused by a corrupted file in the app's system. Follow the steps below, in this order.

Note: if the black image only appears in the Screenshot, while the TV is playing YouTube or Vimeo videos, see The screenshot shows a completely black image.

1. Clear the cache

  1. In the control panel, open the TV.
  2. Click the Clear cache option.

2. Reinstall the app

Uninstall the app from the device and install it again. Updating it is not enough: if there is a corrupted file, only reinstalling can fix the problem.

Important: when you reinstall, the app generates a new activation code, and you need to unlink and link the TV again. See how to unlink a TV and how to link a TV.

3. Restore the device

Open the device settings and use the Reset or Factory reset option to restore it to factory settings. This step is recommended when a system file has been corrupted.

If nothing works

If none of the options above fix the problem, you may need to replace the device with a different one. See the list of recommended Android devices.
