What should I do if the app freezes or shows an inactivity alert on the Amazon Fire Stick?

In March 2024, Amazon introduced Data Monitoring on Fire Stick devices. By default, this feature makes the device show an alert asking you to confirm that you are still "watching" something if no one has touched the device for 4 hours.
The alert can stay on the screen for up to 2 minutes. The app usually keeps working normally after that. In rare cases, however, the app does not detect the alert and does not go back to working normally.
How to turn off the alert
- On the Fire Stick, go to Settings.
- Open Preferences.
- Select Data Monitoring.
- Under Still Watching, select Off.
Done: the alert should no longer appear.
