What does each TV status on the dashboard mean?
The dashboard tracks each TV's communication with the servers and shows the result as colours and text: in the TV list, on the status button in the menu, on the Status Page and on each TV's page.
Statuses and colours
| Status | Colour | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Working Correctly | Green | The TV is communicating normally and playing content. |
| Under Verification | Orange | The TV has not communicated for a few minutes, or it is communicating but has not started playing yet (for example, loading the app or waiting for content). |
| No Communication | Red | The TV has not communicated with the servers for 10 minutes or more. |
| No Communication outside Operating Hours | Grey | The TV is not communicating, but it is outside the Operating Hours set for it. |
In practice, the TV changes to Under Verification when it goes between 3 and 10 minutes without communicating.
Note: No Communication does not mean the TV has stopped showing content. See The TV appears offline. Does the content stop being shown?
Status button and Status Page
When there is at least one TV, the menu shows a status button with a summary, such as All working, 1 no communication, 3 no communication, 2 on alert or Outside Operating Hours.
Click the button to open the Status Page. It shows an overall message (for example, All working correctly or Some TVs not communicating) and the list of TVs with the status of each one, starting with those that are not communicating. The page updates automatically.
Choose which TVs appear
The Show on Status Page and Button option sets whether the TV appears on the Status Page and is included in the button summary. Choose No for TVs you do not need to monitor.
- In the TVs menu, click the TV's name.
- Click the Extras tab.
- Click Enable Editing.
- In the Control panel group, choose Yes or No under Show on Status Page and Button.
- Click Save.
Alerts in the TV list
With the Show Alerts option set to Yes (in the same Control panel group), the TV list shows an icon next to the TV's name when there is a problem. Hover your mouse over the icon to see the reason and click it to see what to do:
- Restarting many times in a short period. See what to do.
- The device clock appears to be incorrect. See what to do.
- No communication for more than X days. See what to do.
- Storage low on free space. See what to do.
Tip: under Sort by, choose Alerts to see TVs with alerts first.
Status on the TV page
In the Settings and Status tab, the Status and Information group shows:
- App: the current status, such as Online - Working, Offline - No communication, No communication for X minutes, Checking, Loading or Waiting for Content.
- Online for / Offline for: how long the TV has been online or offline.
- Latest Information: the latest activity reported by the app, such as Showing (what is on screen), Playing, Loading App, Downloading Content for Display, Waiting for File Optimisation to Finish, Updating or TV Connection Problem with the Servers.
On some devices, the App Monitor line also appears, showing the status of the Monitor App.
