How do I replace the device on a TV without losing its settings?
If a TV's device has broken down or you want to swap it for another one, you don't need to delete the TV and pair it again. Use the Replace TV option: the new device takes the place of the old one, and the TV keeps the same registration in the dashboard, with the same name and the settings you've already configured for it, such as the playlist.
Before you start
Install the Adeus Pendrive app on the new device and open it while the device is connected to the internet. The app will show a code on the screen. You'll need it in the dashboard.
How to replace
- In the TVs menu, click the name of the TV that will receive the new device.
- At the bottom of the page, on the right, click Replace TV.
- Read the warnings in the confirmation window.
- Enter the code shown on the app screen on the new device.
- Click Replace TV.
When it's done, the TV's page reloads with the message TV substituída com sucesso!.
Important: this procedure cannot be undone.
The code has 5 characters. If you see the message O código precisa ser de 5 dígitos, check what you entered.
What happens to the old device
- If the old device is working, it restarts and starts showing a new activation code.
- The app is not uninstalled from the old device.
If you want to use the old device on another screen, pair it as a new TV using that new code. If you won't be using it anymore, you can uninstall the app from it.
What changes and what stays the same
The TV remains the same in the dashboard, with the same page and the same settings. However, the information under Status e Informações, such as Versão do Aplicativo, Sistema Operacional and Resolução, will now reflect the new device.
Tip: after the swap, check the options that depend on the device, such as Rotação and the options on the Extras tab. The new device may have different features from the old one.
Note: to replace a TV, your user needs permission to pair TVs.
