How do I display Power BI on my TVs?
To display Power BI on your TVs, your content must be public. You publish the report to the web from Power BI itself, copy the generated link, and add that link to the Power BI tool in the TV's playlist.
Important: when you make your content public, anyone on the internet who has the link to your interactive Power BI content can view the published report or visual. Viewing doesn't require any authentication. For this reason, only share the public link with people you trust.
Publish the report in Power BI
- Open a report in a workspace you can edit and select File > Embed report > Publish to web (public).
- If your Power BI administrator hasn't granted you permission to create embed codes, contact them.
- Review the content of the dialog box and select Create embed code.
- Read the warning and confirm that the data is correct. If it is, select Publish.
- In the Success dialog box, you'll see a few fields with links and codes. Copy only the link from the first field. You won't need the rest of the information.
Note: if you've already created an embed code for this report, when you select Publish to web (public) you won't see the dialog boxes from steps 2 to 4. Instead, you'll see the Embed code dialog box. Again, copy only the link from the first field.
Display on the TV
- In the dashboard, open the TV's playlist.
- Add the copied link to the Power BI tool.
