How long can I leave the app running without interruption?
It depends on the device's operating system:
- Windows: the app can run for weeks without problems, with no need to restart the app or Windows.
- Android and Smart TVs: it is strongly recommended that you restart the app before it completes 2 days of uninterrupted playback.
Why restart on Android and Smart TVs
Android handles apps of this type differently and may freeze them after about 30 hours of running. This time varies depending on the Android version and the device.
How to make the device restart every day
- Connect the device to the TV's USB port. This way, it switches on at the start of business hours, when the TV is switched on, and switches off at the end of business hours, when the TV is switched off.
- Use a power timer if you cannot use the USB port. Set the timer to cut power to the device at a certain time and switch it back on at the start of business hours.

When the TV needs to run 24 hours a day
In places that operate 24 hours a day, such as airports, you can:
- set the power timer to switch off the device at a time with less activity and switch it back on 1 minute later; or
- use a Windows device.
Restart App automatically option
On TVs with older versions of the app (earlier than 3.9.7), the Extras tab shows the Restart App automatically option, which restarts the app every hour or every 2 to 24 hours. It is recommended only for TVs that stay on all the time and use Android or are Smart TVs.
- In the TVs menu, click the name of the TV.
- Click the Extras tab.
- Click Enable Editing.
- Under Restart App automatically, choose the interval (or No to turn it off).
- Click Save.
In the latest versions of the app, this option does not appear. In that case, follow the recommendations above.
