What is the difference between the image fill options?

For images, the Fill option defines how the image occupies the TV screen. There are two options: Show Whole Image and Fill the TV.

OptionWhat happens
Show Whole ImageThe image fills the whole screen without cropping or distortion, regardless of the image's resolution or format.
Fill the TVThe image fills the screen with cropping, so that no black bars are shown when the image's aspect ratio is different from the TV's aspect ratio.

Show Whole Image

No part of the image is cropped or distorted, whatever its resolution or format. Use this option when no part of the image can be left out.

Fill the TV

The image is cropped when necessary, so that the screen has no black bars even when the image's aspect ratio is different from the TV's aspect ratio. Use this option when you want the screen to be completely filled.

By default, the focus point for cropping is the centre of the image. If you set the most important point of the image, the cropping is done based on that point.

Tip: if something important in the image is near the edges, set the most important point of the image so that this area continues to appear on the TV.
