How do I see where a file is shown and its play statistics?
Each file's page shows which playlists and TVs it is in and how many times it has been played. To open the page, go to Files in the menu and click the file name.
Where the file is shown
In the Settings and Information tab, in the File Information group, the Where this file is shown field has two parts:
- Summary: the number of playlists and TVs that use the file.
- Details: the playlists, grouped by how they are being used.
| Group | What it means |
|---|---|
| Main Playlist | Playlists chosen as a TV's playlist. |
| Playlist in Schedule | Playlists used in TV schedules. |
| Playlist as Sub-Playlist | Playlists used inside another playlist. |
| Playlist with no location set | Playlists that are not being used on any TV or inside another playlist. |
Next to each playlist (except under Playlist as Sub-Playlist), you'll see the number of TVs that use it and, below, the names of those TVs. Click a name to open the playlist or TV in a new tab. If the file is not in any playlist, "no Playlist / TV shows this file" appears.
File Statistics
- On the file's page, open the File Statistics tab. You don't need to enable editing.
- Choose the period, TV or playlist you want to analyse.
- Click Search and wait. Loading can take up to 2 minutes.
The period, TV and playlist filters and the chart are part of the full statistics. The panel says: "Full File Statistics available on the Premium and Corporate plans". If your plan doesn't include the full statistics, the tab doesn't show the filters: click the show statistics link to see the totals.
The results show:
- Total Plays and Days on Screen.
- The TVs and playlists that show the file.
- In the full statistics, a chart. Click Click here for more details in the summary boxes to change the chart.
The available periods are All Time, Today, Yesterday, Last 3 days, Last 7 days, Last 15 days, Last 30 days, Current month, Last month and Custom period.
Full screen, chart and report
- Open in Full Screen: enlarges the statistics.
- Download Chart: downloads the chart shown.
- Export Report: generates the play report with the totals and with the details of the search and chart shown. For a different period, search before exporting.
How to interpret the numbers
- The play time is each TV's local time, which may differ from your time zone.
- Plays made while the device's clock was wrong are included in the total, but may affect the days on screen and the details. See The device clock seems to be wrong. What should I do?.
- Plays on TVs with an old version of the app appear as (Playlist not found): in these cases, only the number of plays is known, not the playlist.
- If a playlist has been deleted, its plays appear as Deleted Playlist.
- There may be a slight variation in the total while the report is being generated.
If the tab appears disabled with the message "Currently unavailable, please try again later.", try again after a few minutes.
