What is the focal point of an image?
The focal point is the area of the image you want to make sure appears on the TV. It's used when the image needs to be cropped to fill the screen.
How it works
- When editing an image, in the File Preview tab, you can select the focal point of the image.
- If the Fill option is set to Fill TV, the file is cropped (if needed) based on this point, so that this area of the image is shown.
- If you don't select a point, the focal point defaults to the center of the image.
For example: if the logo or main product is near one of the edges, select it as the focal point so it stays visible after cropping.
How to set the point
- Open the image and go to the File Preview tab.
- Use the option to select the focal point of the image.
- Make sure the Fill option is set to Fill TV.
Note: the focal point only makes a difference when the image is cropped, that is, with Fill TV. With the Show Entire Image option, the image is shown without cropping.
