How do I upload images and videos?

All the content you upload is stored on the Files page. Once uploaded, the same file can be used in as many playlists as you like.

Uploading files

1. In the menu, go to Files.
2. Click Add files.
3. In the window that opens, choose the images and videos on your computer. You can select several at once.
4. Wait for the upload to finish. Each uploaded file appears at the top of the list.

Tip: you can also drag files from your computer onto the Files page. The upload area opens automatically.

Just below the Add files button, the dashboard shows the maximum size for each file and the accepted types: JPG, JPEG, GIF and PNG images, and MP4, MOV, AVI and other video formats. See the full list and your account's storage space in Which file types can I upload and what is the maximum size?.

Optimisation

After uploading, each file is optimised so that it displays correctly on each TV. While this happens, it appears in the list with a spinning icon and the dashboard shows a notice that files are being optimised.

You don't need to wait: you can already add the file to playlists, and it starts being shown once optimisation is complete. See Do I need to wait for a file to finish optimising before adding it to a playlist? and How long does it take for a file to start showing on the TV?.

Adding the files to a playlist

1. On the Files page, tick the box next to the files.
2. Under With selected..., choose Insert into Playlist.
3. Choose one or more playlists.
4. Choose where the files go: Automatic (spread throughout the playlist), At the Start, In the Middle or At the End.
5. Click Insert into Playlist.

YouTube and Vimeo videos

To show a YouTube or Vimeo video, you don't need to upload it as a file: add it from the playlist. See How do I show YouTube or Vimeo videos on the TV?.
