How do I create a playlist?

The playlist defines what appears on the TV and in what order. You build the playlist with files, entertainment and tools, and then choose that playlist on the TV's page. The same playlist can be used on several TVs.

Create the playlist

1. In the menu, click Playlist.
2. Click Create Playlist.
3. Type the name of the playlist. It must have at least 3 characters and cannot be the same as the name of another playlist.
4. Click Create Playlist.

The dashboard opens the new playlist's page.

Add the items

1. If you cannot drag the items, click Enable Editing.
2. Under Playlist Items, choose the Files, Entertainment or Tools tab.
3. Drag the items you want into the Final List, the green column.
4. To change the order, drag the items within the Final List.
5. To adjust an item, such as how long an image stays on screen, click the grey cog icon next to it. See the options for each item.
6. Click Save.

Tip: tools such as Website / URL and YouTube Video only appear on the TV after you fill in their options using the cog. Find out more in What is the difference between entertainment and tools?

Note: files that are still being optimised can be added to the playlist as normal. They are shown once optimisation has finished.

Choose the playlist on the TV

1. In the menu, click TVs and open the TV you want.
2. Click Enable Editing.
3. On the Settings and Status tab, under Basic settings, choose the playlist in the Playlist field.
4. Click Save.

To change the playlist on several TVs at once, select the TVs on the TVs page and use With selected... > Change Playlist.

Once you save a playlist, the TVs that use it are updated automatically, with no need to restart them. New items may take around 1 to 2 minutes to start appearing.
